Other in house options like those, there’s really nothing that he can do until the deadline. As long as he doesn’t do a Fujinama type thing again around the deadline. -
Bright had a solid outing last night: 5 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 6 K’s. 49 of 84 pitches for strikes. On the year, in 18.2 IP, Bright has a 2.41 ERA, 1.61 WHIP, 11.1 K/9 and 3.3 K/BB. He’s allowed more hits than you’d like (23 in 18.2 IP) but had allowed only 2 homers (both in the same outing) and has done a good job keeping runs off the board. -

Bumbry had wild swings in BABIP throughout his career. .375 in '73, then .274 in '74. .372 in '77 then .258 in '78. One of those guys who was really good if he hit about .300, but not so much if he hit .237. Would be fun to see modern Statcast data for historical seasons to try to figure out what was going on there. Injuries? Bad luck? Just slumping? -
De Leon had an excellent outing last night: 5.2 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 8 K’s. He got through 5.2 innings in 65 pitches, 43 strikes. The unearned run came when two batters reached on consecutive errors (one by De Leon) in the 6th inning, so really he could have gotten through 6 IP in less than 65 pitches but for some poor defense in his final inning of work. In 16.1 innings, he’s posted a 1.65 ERA, 0.86 WHIP, 12.7 K/9, 2.8 K/BB. That’s a very solid April for De Leon, who was promoted to Delmarva in mid-July last year and threw 26.1 innings to a 2.39 ERA then. Looks like he’ll be a strong candidate to move up to Aberdeen soon. The O’s probably would like to see some more outings of 5+ innings before making that move.

Good stuff on the farm yesterday! Creed's HR was a laser! Of course Bradish and Bright! Looked like Acevedo would have been out at 3B with a more accurate throw. Silas might have a ML future!
