Jesus its like watching a replacement level team now, with Valdez, Soto, Slater, Urias (not really fair to list him here, but lets face it, he wasn't really in the plans).  Holliday still acclimating.  Eloy hitting ground balls every AB.  This position player group is so much worse than it used to be, its ugly

I wish they’d just let Mayo come up and go through the growing pains now and hope he can contribute in a few weeks, instead we’ll watch Eloy be terrible.

is Mayo being left in AAA along with his very quick demotion, purely a service time ploy? Cant imagine anyone in their right mind thinks Soto and Rivera are better options.

Too bad Eloy can't even play 1B.  Going to get a lot of O'Hearn at 1B?  Going to be some god awful lineups.

Bringing up Livan instead of Mayo is an absolute joke.

How many more days until another Mayo promotion keeps him under 45 service days and rookie eligible for 2025?

Sometimes you have to wait a couple of days to see if an injury will resolve.  When your alternative is Livan Soto, there’s no reason to rush the move.

I genuinely don’t think so. 
 

Perhaps they think it’s more valuable to him to play at AAA right now.

Soto won't play IMO, so neither would Mayo. They have a better offensive chance right now with O'Hearn playing every day at 1B and Eloy at DH.

We will still be playing short it isn’t like Soto has played any while on the roster.  Maybe he gets in a game this time.
