Except its not “we are who we are”.

The Os changed and developed him and realized his career wasn’t over at age 18, 19, 20 or 21..that it’s an evolution of things and different things come at different times..and that development isn’t linear.

I think GH is already one of the best players in baseball and could go down as one of the best ever.  That doesn't mean as people who play sports that you cannot revert to bad habits or go into slumps. 

EVERYONE DOES.

My point was GHs little slumps involve swings like the above.

That doesn't mean you or anyone needs to come out of the wood work and  defend his honor like a shining white knight like you do for JH for example....and call me a troll for saying so.

Get a life.  It should involve more than this message board.

      Another Shorebirds player that I think will start getting some attention is Aneudis Mordan. I don't think he will have the arm to stay at catcher, but he looks decent at 1B too.   He just turned 20 a few ago. He may not rise like SB but there's definitely something there with his bat.

      Small sample size (20 IP) but this favorite stat here -- K/H, 33/5 -- is otherworldly even for high-end relievers. Back in the day (e.g., 1987, peak Tom Henke at 128/62) when I first started noticing it, the best of the best were at around K/H = 2.0. This sample, 33/5, is 6.6. For probably the closest comparable context, last year the Mountain had a historic 110/30, or 3.7 (in 61 IP).

      I 100% agree with you about Juan Rojas. I was at a Shorebirds game last weekend when him and Povich were starting. I want to say Cano pitched the same night, and it had me thinking about how great that trade is looking for Baltimore. He struck out 7 or 8 that night.

      If you honestly think Silent J is destined to have a 30ish bWAR career with multiple AS appearances and SSs don't you want to keep him? He's inexpensive right now. His value, if you believe that you are likely to get that level of production, is extremely high. Now, I see your point if he's more comparable to Jay Gibbons or Luke Scott. I think the listed comps are a bit of a stretch on both sides of his likely career outcome.  FWIW

      I think for me this specific deal is harder because of Mountie and Kjerstad. Bradfield I don’t care about one bit honestly, and McD I really don’t have a good feel for, other than he’s one of the very few actual prospects at the upper levels for us (pitching wise).    Feels like if we traded Mountie it would help free up at bats for Kjerstad, but that won’t matter if they are both in the deal. Yes we have Mayo but depth then becomes an issue a little bit.  Like I said, glad it’s not my call to make!

      Are the Tigers going to give up on Torkelson? Seems like Mounty wouldn't be the ML guy they'd want. As it is now we really don't have a long term option at 1B other than Mounty himself anyway. When 2027 rolls around that dust will have settled. Maybe Mayo? If I were to guess the player the Tigers would target, it'd be Westburg. But I think he has entrenched himself to the point he's not going anywhere. Perhaps Kjerstad/McDermott/Norby/Bradfield would get it done? That may seem light, but it is 2 guys in the top 100 and 2 guys that are fringe top 100. Bradfield presents the same problem though. I think the Orioles really view Cowser as the long term LF, to eventually replace Hays. Mullins probably isn't getting an extension. CF is still mostly a mystery long term without Bradfield.
