Really hopeful that Basallo can come up sometime mid way through 2025 and give Adley more of a break.

I really like the idea of finishing out the last few weeks at the next level.  I think it gives them a taste of what they need to work on as well as the motivation to do it.

Nats are calling up Crews. Crews will be really close to the 130 AB to retain prospect status. Theoretically, Basallo slots up one spot higher in the offseason rankings.

Looks like Basallo won't hit #1 this offseason.  Maybe he has a chance next spring/midseason 2025, depending on his AAA performance.

Mayo and Crews I bet both stick in the list.    They are about as likely to surpass 130 AB as 2022 Gunnar Henderson.

I almost look forward to next year when Honeycutt or EBJ is a normal #1 prospect maybe around 30th MLB-wide.    Provided all the biggest talents are on the Orioles.

Looks like Darren McGaughan (30 MLB innings of 8.00 ERA) will be the opponent as Basallo starts seeing AAAA Up/Down slop artists a little bit more frequently.    His stuff will probably not be as hot as Jackson Jobe's Saturday night.

A couple things…

It’s good to see Basallo hit a lefty vs lefty HR. Especially of the AAA variety.

Basallo just turned 20 like 3 weeks ago. 

He’s had 7K in his first few games but that he’s adjusting. 

Dylan Crews started out on fire, and the Nats are batting him leadoff. The cutoff is 130 PA. Crews is at 13 PA through 3 games. The Nats have 28 games left. It’s going to be close, but if the Nats sit Crews even 3 games he’ll stay under. We’ll see. 

Holliday graduated from prospect lists last night.

Are we talking about Basallo being ranked the no. 1 prospect in baseball?  I haven't looked closely at his competition, but don't believe Crews should be under consideration.  He played decently in Double A/Triple A, but did not set those leagues on fire the way a top ten MLB prospect, who is already 22, should.

He'll be #1 on some lists. Fangraphs only has Jackson Holliday and Junior Caminero ahead of him, both of whom will graduate soon. 

Lawlar and Mayer can't stay healthy.

Carson Williams is his main competition in my eyes.

Hard to make a case for Williams, when Basallo is two years younger and outhit him at the same level.  Carson is very good defensively, so perhaps that could be weighed more if Basallo is looked at as a player who will need to move to first base.  I would still rank Carson Williams over Dylan Crews. 

I did a quick review of the top prospects on MLB Pipeline and unless there is some other guy outside the top 20 who is going to shoot up the list to no. 1, it looks like Basallo to me.
