Albert Suarez 2024

I thought he looked very shaky in the first inning and then he allowed a leadoff single in the 2nd.  I thought he was going to have a short night.   Then he just completely turned it around.  Great job and we needed it.

If anyone had bothered to stop crying after his last start in Houston and paid attention to what happened,  they'd have noticed that he had a disaster of a start to the game and then got it together.

I didn’t even see the Houston game so I have no idea what happened there.  I thought he looked good in the Texas game.  But I didn’t like how he looked in the first today.  It wasn’t just the homer, he just seemed to be missing pretty badly and then having to throw down the middle.  But he got his curve going in the second and that really helped him.

The changeup to get Rooker later on was spectacular.

He'll never dazzle but when you look up he keeps his team in it and rarely has very bad innings...If the Orioles pick up another starter at the deadline...Suarez will be a long man in the pen...I have to say I like him better as a starter...more thane could ask for...really

I think and hope he makes through the rest of the season with us , either as SP or RP

Claims of his demise were premature and inaccurate.

Dude is a horse. He’s only given up 3 homers all season. 2 versus the A’s.

Man… we could do a lot worse for a game 3 SP.

Suarez doesn’t get rattled.

And yet you’re going to see people who can’t wait to banish him to the bullpen at the first sight of a struggle because he’s not “a premium talent.”

Maybe it’s just me… but a part of me is like “You gotta dance with the girl you came with.”  Let’s roll with Suarez in Game 3.

Is this parody? You can tell by watching him, he’s not a guy with good stuff. He’s not someone you start in a playoff game. He’s definitely valuable to us this year as someone who’s stayed healthy and can keep you in the game. And against bad offensive teams, he can make them look silly. But, I’d be concerned if he’s our #3 SP in October.

    • So give Burnes $30-35 and you still have $23 plus whatever pay increase is approved
    • 1) I feel like we could’ve used some veteran star power leadership  2) Money 💰…if need be get a switch hitter  3) I’m standing by sign Burnes …I anticipate 6 or 7 years … Fail or Fall? I expect him to disappoint … In addition to Burnes I’d be looking to extend Eflin  4) I think we have a number of guys leaving … we almost certainly have a pick for Santander and Burnes if Elias fails. Spend some dam money  5) I think they’d approve $200 ish million …. But who know. I’ve come to believe his name should be bargain bin Mike. But I’m willing to wait and see since the new owners may push him to bulk up the team. If I’m Rubbenstein I’d want some star power to have a shot at a WS while I he’s still alert  6) I’m done with the batting coaches … bring in one competent guy. Preach get on base and make good contact over swinging for the moon.    In regards to pitching it’s the rash of arm injuries that has me concerned. Was it a fluke or coaching philosophy. I’ll chalk it up to bad luck but boy we had a lot of it  7) I think Gunnar is the guy you go after… if it’s a no …you can early extend Westburg. I’d want to see Adley rebound. If the front office is confident he will maybe you extend him now.    8.) I’m fine with McCann but perhaps we need a C3 with the way we regularly play both. 9) I’m fine with what we have if everyone is healthy this coming year and Felix is ready to roll from the get go. I believe he makes Cionel, Cano, Dominquez , Coulombe and Soto better. If you want an upgrade then I guess you can trade some as depth   10)I think he likes to take shots on lottery tickets… I don’t think it’s out of the box for him. Holliday depends if your moving Mullins along.
    • Just listened to it for the um first time. Not sure how anyone could um listen to that um entire uh press conference, um three uh times.
    • Thanks for detailing these out.
    • I was mistaking him for someone else…
    • This years playoff lose does not reach the top 5 in terms of pain for me. 1.   When the Jet beat the Coltsin the 69 Superbowl.  Now that is pain. 2.  Mets beat the heavily favored O's in the 69 WS 3.  Pirates beat the O's in 71.   Family my ass. 4.  Jeffery Maier robs the O's in the 96 Championship game vs the Yankees 5. Cleveland's Tony Fernandez  homers off Benitez  in the 11th to beat the O's 1-0 in the 97 Champion Series. Love the O's.  This years lose was not has bad as any of those.
