Sucks that Detroit was robbed of their chance to bat in the ninth, but they have to travel to Cleveland to start a series tomorrow.  So if the rain delay would have been long enough to severely impede their travel, I could see it being called.

They suspend games now. There should almost never be a game called early for weather.

great job Dean!! I wonder about that blister though...he seems to be bothered by it...

They typically don't allow pitchers to throw 3 games in a row with blisters. See: Fried, Max. Those are usually 15-day DL stints. I'd like confirmation from Dean or Hyde before I run with the theory.

Yeah I would have Suarez warming up in case Kremer quickly loses feel and strike zone  like he did last inning.

He licks his fingers before every pitch.

I'm not sure whether that means he has a blister or he's trying to throw spitballs.

Remember when they used to call an automatic ball when a pitcher went to his mouth?

This is the last game of their series.  In a cross-divisional match up, there will be two series between them during the year, one in each city.  So the Tigers weren't going to be playing in New York (in Yankee Stadium) again this season to resume the game later.

Or it's a nervous tick.

They make teams travel for a one-off game to make up for rainouts all the time.
