Aberdeen opponents need to keep their heads on a swivel.  I count 80 SBs just from the SB leaders at Aberdeen.

Josenberger, Bradfield, Etzel and Vasquez rank 2-5 in the Sally League in steals.  Bowling Green (Tampa) has a kid named Chandler Simpson who’s pretty much lapped the field with 31 steals.  Simpson stole 94 bases last year.  That kid is hitting .370 with a .378 SLG, one extra base hit all year.  But he ends up at 2B anyway.

It will be fascinating to see if Simpson can climb the ladder.   Seems like despite his speed, he’s not the defender Bradfield is.  He made a nice catch last night though:

Probably not (6 games in LF, 24 in CF) and the total lack of power is what our concern was with Bradfield.    He’s also a year older.    We took Wagner at #42 and Fabian at #67.   The Rays took Simpson at #70.   The Royals took Misiorowski at #63.   Of course, I had Druw Jones at 1:1.

I wonder what’s happened to Luis Valdez, who led the O’s minor leaguers in stolen bases the last two years (71 and 47).  He hasn’t played this season but I don’t remember seeing him on a list of players who were cut.  I have no illusions that he had any shot at the majors, but he was entertaining to follow.  It will be interesting to see if Josenberger or Bradfield can top Valdez’s 71 steals from two years ago.
