edit: @RSNJ…you said you were at Sg’s barbecue, so I’m assuming you’re referring to his barbecue restaurant, and I am asking how you knew he had a restaurant.

And if this is a private gathering, then how does he not know who you are? Unless you’re crashing somebody’s private barbecue, which I doubt.

So I was assuming he had a restaurant and you were there incognito.

At lollapalooza nobody had anything but Volkswagen vans.

No shame to ride a bike to a gig, but it’s pretty hard to carry the amps.

A lot of musicians hate flying. because unlike you, they’ve read what happens to a lot of musicians that have fly!
 

 

See: Stevie Ray Vaughan, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Randy Rhodes, the big bopper, Richie Valens. 
And now that I think about it, lots of bands travel by driving.
