With Tate, here’s the thing, I know he isn’t what he used to be, but his pitch on the single that scored a run wasn’t that bad. The horizontal movement on his two seamer is incredible and ERA (I know it isn’t the end all stat) isn’t bad.

I didn't realize how many of TB's best players are having bad seasons until this series.  Even Diaz.  I wonder what gives?

Granted, given who was available, Tate was maybe the best choice.  Though I'm not 100% sure he's who I'd pick over Akin, Webb or Perez.  Not that any of them are super trustworthy either, I just really don't trust Tate.   That said, our bullpen shouldn't be in a situation where Tate is the best choice in that situation.
