The July schedule

3 at Oakland (30-56)

Off Day

3 vs. Cubs (39-46)

3 vs. Yankees (54-32)

4-day all star break

3 at Texas (38-46)

Off Day

3 at Miami (30-54)

3 vs. San Diego (46-42)

4 vs. Toronto (including an opening doubleheader)(38-45)

That's 16 games vs. teams with losing records, only 9 vs. winning teams.  13 at home, 12 on the road.   Plenty of off days in there.   

I'd say 17-8 is a worthy goal.

The Yankees play 13 games with Boston and Tampa, 3 with us, 3 with the Phillies, 2 with the Mets, 3 with the Reds.  Only the Mets (40-41) and Reds (39-45) are below .500, with Tampa (42-42) right at .500.

Good goal but that schedule is tougher than it appears. We know TX is better than that record. Toronto will always play us tough.  In Seattle is always very tough. Certainly 5-6 losses between just those three series is possible. 
 

Certainly easier than June both in opponent quality and perhaps more importantly, off days.

I never like getting ahead of myself, or assume we will dominate bad teams.  I know we had one poster who was saying we really should sweep Houston.  Uh, yeah.   

But honestly, we’re a .630 winning percentage team, and this is a soft part of our schedule.  15-10 would disappoint me greatly.  16-9 would be okay but a missed opportunity.

If they play well we have a great shot to put a little distance between us and the Yankees.  That would be a great story line going into the ASB.

I think you are underselling the month. Would you be unhappy if they went 3-3 to start this?  I’m honestly not expecting more than that.

Unhappy with 3-3 would be an overstatement.  I’d be a little disappointed.   I don’t “expect” anything - I’m hoping for better.

Would be nice if the schedule maker had put some of those off days in June.  Not sure why so many off days needed so close to All Star break

I don't feel like doing the math, but does anyone have the opponent's winning percentage available for June and July? I can't believe the gauntlet the O's just went through.

One game or series at a time. Keep the players fresh with an off day with rotating basis . This summer heat is no joke

Reds hang on to win again vs. the Yankees. They are scuffling pretty well. Hope we can keep doing our thing this month and make some separation.
