Those are the guys Roy is ok with trading.  It wasn’t meant as a serious offer by me.  Kind of a joke.  How bout yours?   Was that serious or a joke?

I am assuming you have a real package to offer. Seattle needs major league ready offense. We need major league ready pitching. Santander would be a huge upgrade for Seattle. Norby would start for them also. Upgrade!

What is your “serious” offer?

This could be a possibility in the offseason but not at the deadline.

I don't see the Mariners trading away from a position of strength during the season even if they need offense. The Mariners are going to try and trade prospects in season for a bat that can help.

If they want to trade an established starter I'm sure Elias is willing to talk, but with the volume that pitchers get hurt now the Mariners aren't going to risk it.

They aren’t trading their #1 or #2 starter for a rental bat and a rookie who’s never done it before.

Westburg, Mountcastle, and Kremer for Kirby.  Seattle would at least have to think about that.

Mountcastle is injured. Still can’t stay off the low and away slider. Folks were talking about getting rid of him last year for basically nothing. How bout Santander, Norby, Kremer, and Beavers/Bradfield?

The motivation for the Mariners is offensive help this year.   Beavers or Bradfield don’t provide that.  Norby is a maybe plus they already have a rookie at 2B in Bliss with a .706 OPS.    Santander makes sense but he’s only for 3 months.

So the Mariners give up a TOR starter, who 4+ years, for a RF who is good, not great.   That’s a minus in the short term.

Westburg, Santander, Kremer, Bradfield and they still say no.

Well if they say no to that trade offer they are fools! They cannot go far in the playoffs the way they are built! Adding an All Star 40 HR Santander and a 5 WAR player in Westburg would do wonders for their lineup. No way the Orioles give up that much!
