I think the pitching injuries are only part of the story. This is an offense that is very poor at situational hitting. They score most of their runs via the HR. (Too lazy to look it up, if less than 50%, I bet it’s still a large number.)

Do you think if Bradish, Wells, Means, and Grod had made all or most of their starts since May they wouldn’t have 6 or more wins this year?  On pace again to win over 100 games?  Of course they would.

Rutschman looks worse than Wieters at this point. Sure doesn’t look like a long term star. Basallo your up next.

Adley's OPS+ is still 117 while Wieters in his best full season put up a 110 OPS+. Adley has been slumping, but this is hyperbole saying he's worse than Wieters.

Nothing like trying to start a rally and having Mullins (against a lefty), Urias and McCann due up.

It's terrible that Elias thinks his team is a contender running out this lineup against the Red Sox.

The Red Sox offense is dynamic, fast, and well balanced with nearly every hitter with an OPS near or above 800 OPS. Now that they’re healthy, they’re a force.

Theyre a better team than the O’s right now. Pre-injuries is a different story, but that’s not the team the O’s have.

They are 100% a better team than this Orioles team.

This is what I’m afraid of when we miss the playoffs by 3 games.   People will take the easy way out and say what a remarkable and masterful job Hyde did to almost make the playoffs given the injuries….rather than point to all the winnable games (pick your number) that he turned into losses.

Harbaugh has gotten that injury free-ride quite a few times.

And is just as irrational fan nonsense for Harbaugh as well.  Fire the Manager or fire the coach.  It is nonsense.

Baker was sent down for Povich. 7 guys in pen. Akin went 2 yesterday.

People whine when he throws Soto or Kimbrel no matter when. Cano was done. The guy can’t win.

Hyde has a big problem with over using his bullpen pieces. He likes to play matchups and he likes to pull guys to play the matchups. That means he uses lots of guys every day and that means he has to use guys on consecutive days.

It’s obvious that he doesn’t have a good bullpen and everybody is risky, but given that, you take the guy who is the most rested And whenever possible, leave a guy in.

I said that I would have pulled Povich to start the beginning, but I had had no problem letting Povich start the inning, and I would have probably pulled him after he gave up the single and I would have probably brought cano in, which is exactly what Hyde did.

Cano was bad but the decision-making to that point was entirely OK.

Where Hyde screwed up was bringing in Smith a day after he threw 20 pitches.

Palmer pointed out last night that Weaver pitched to win the game that night and he let tomorrow worry about itself. That was a subtle slam against Hyde, because Palmer also has strong feelings about the bullpen usage, but he can’t really say anything.

You are talking about the Yankees?   Because they are 23-27 in their last 50.

The Yankees aren’t that good. Their rotation way over performed the first half and they have 2 good hitters. I expected more of the Orioles.

Wow, that’s amazing.  I was thinking nearly the same thing last night.  That Hyde seems to be focused more on how the bullpen is set up for later in the week vs winning today’s game.

There are two guys that do the post game show on radio.  There’s Steve who is just a pure rah-rah homer.  The other guy, whose name escapes me, who knows way more about baseball always tells it like it is and is honest about the team.  I wish he had more air time…he seems to just do fill-in.
