We will see but Rivera has played a solid 1B so far.

He might as well start at third. It’s not like the team has been lighting it up defensively on the left side (or any side) lately anyway.

Possible. I think they want him on the postseason roster.

JD Davis has been terrible, so it won’t be him.

Honestly Basallo might put hit Adley at this point. 
 

To me Adley and Gunnar not hitting is actually the biggest problem, even more so than the injuries. If those two got going at the top of the lineup it would solve a lot of problems. Not many of the top teams would survive their two hitters they rely on most being this cold. If Soto and Judge slumped like this simultaneously, the Yanks would be toast. Santander is doing all he can but he needs support from our biggest bats.

Ouch!   Good question.   I think Mayo actually hurts you less at 3B.

I don't know if I'd have the Willie Mays-Leo Durocher conversation but until Mayo is Eloy bad at baserunning I'd tell him he's in just about everyday.

Are his ordinary throwing woes as bad as Gunnar's recent ones?     Really make it interesting for O'Hearn over at 1B.

Mayo's arm strength is wasted at 1B. He is much more comfortable at 3B. To me it's a no brainer he plays 3B when in the field. Big question in my mind is how do you DH him now? What's the infield alignment when you do?

It’s not a question of arm strength.   If you can’t throw accurately it doesn’t matter how fast it gets there.   He’s bad at 1B too though.   It’s a matter of where he’s less likely to cost you a game on defense.
