That is called coming up small.

He pitches a lot closer to his 3.66 FIP than he real ERA.

So with Burnes the story will be 2 runs and another QS.  Sometimes though you need your “ace” to completely shut down the other team especially one with a mediocre offense.    Offense is a big part if the problem but the Yankees just won B2B 3-0 and 2-0 on the road.

As bad as Burnes has been,as of now it's a quality start.Everything is so magnified by this absolutely putrid offense. We've suffered through this the entire summer. Something needs to change!!!

But it doesn't explain the lack of production from Adley, Gunnar (to a small extent), Mountie, and O'Hearn.

It has but this offense has been garbage long before Westburg got hurt.
