The most plausible playoff scenario, from the standpoint of good results, is that Burnes and Eflin = the Rangers Montgomery and Eovaldi last year. One P that had been with the team all year, and one trade deadline acquisition, pitching lights out for a nice stretch. That isn’t all that far fetched really. It’s what provides me the most hope. A few taters, and those two getting/staying on a roll for another month, isn’t all that hard to envision. And that’s really all it would take.

There’s little to no chance of us winning the division down 4 with 8 to play.

However, for all who believe that the postseason is all about randomness and luck. I guess we will see if those who told us that were right all along.
