The D-Backs have 8 runs already today. They average 5.50 runs per game and do it with a lineup that is about half as talented as the Dodgers.

Joe Mather is the Arizona hitting coach.  Can we replace all of our hitting coaches and offensive strategists with this guy?  Offer him double his salary to come over.  I don't know how they do it, but every hitter on that team delivers.

That's like the Mariners bringing in Edgar Martinez and suddenly they can hit again.

I actually believe this team needs to learn to bunt runners over...God knows we cant do it any other way..its ridiculous...

Could have won a few more games, including yesterday's, with effective bunting. The general analytic disfavor of bunting is that giving up the out diminishes your chance of scoring more than one run, but sometimes you only need one run. And sometimes a hitter (like pitchers when they used to bat) are such poor hitters that giving up an out isn't giving up much.

That Rivera AB was just a killer. Should have left OHearn in the game. Much easier for lefty to roll one over.

Apparently that's too complicated for Hyde. With two not-so-great matchup options, I would think the LHed batter is much more likely to hit a ball to the right side.
