Sept 22 vs Tigers — last home game of the season

Don't know if we'll win this one but I feel a lot better about it with Westburg, Urias and Coloumbe around than I did a week ago.

Joe Mather is the Arizona hitting coach.  Can we replace all of our hitting coaches and offensive strategists with this guy?  Offer him double his salary to come over.  I don't know how they do it, but every hitter on that team delivers.

I wish that they would have had another week or so of regular season with guys getting healthy. 

 

There's no reason to use Rivera in this game.

Could have won a few more games, including yesterday's, with effective bunting. The general analytic disfavor of bunting is that giving up the out diminishes your chance of scoring more than one run, but sometimes you only need one run. And sometimes a hitter (like pitchers when they used to bat) are such poor hitters that giving up an out isn't giving up much.

I’ll say this: you’ve got a reasonably rested bullpen with an off day coming up. Pushing a lackluster Suarez to see that lineup for a 3rd time was a poor move by Hyde.

Also, taking Akin out after 12 pitches is a Hyde move. He’s been doing this crap all season.

Apparently that's too complicated for Hyde. With two not-so-great matchup options, I would think the LHed batter is much more likely to hit a ball to the right side.
