Did he really? I mean that's where I went and that's where his mom taught, I just didn't know he went/played there. He's got 8 years on me I believe.

It was about 6 years ago when he came into our class, so he was probably about 25 or 26, and he was heading into journeyman territory after being up and down with a few NL organizations.

When he landed with the Red Sox I saw his mom at a bagel place and she told me he had bought her a house and she was retiring early. She was on top of the world. I was so happy for her.

I glad he caught on and made a career for himself. I don't think he had that extreme side-arm thing going on in high school, so he probably developed that to become a specialist. He seemed like a good guy, mature for a high school kid.

I have to admit, although their accents are terrible, the Red Sox announcers have been pretty classy.

I'm sure some of it is because I live in New England and listen to/watch the Red Sox somewhat frequently, but their TV and radio broadcasters are some of the better ones in MLB.
