I know Jones is the CF and has right of way, but Pie was already under that ball ready to catch it. I don't think Jones needed to go after it, especially being on the run like that. Pie was under it and set. Those two are not communicating well.

Jones is the Man out there and as CF he gets to call anything he wants. More importantly, if Jones could play both CF and LF at the same time, could he bat twice in the line-up and take Pie's spot there, too? That would be great.

Loux is looking quite hittable and beatable so far. 25 pitches, 14 of them for balls, one walk and three hits surrendered. Bottom line, make this guy throw strikes and beat you.

Pié hit the ball hard down the line towards first but Morales caught it on a hop and tagged the base. Moeller could not advance.

Moeller hit a the ball in the gap and Hunter almost cut it off (it was on the ground by then) but he slid and missed it, Moeller made it all the way to 3rd to leadoff the inning. Pié up.

Is it me or did Moeller not have a chance to get back if he does a hard slide back to third. He just gave up. Maybe he was trying to give Izturis time to get to 2nd- but damn- it would have been a close play.
