How exactly did they act like this was game 7 of the WS? The guy hit a homerun to win the game. They were happy they won, I dont think they are popping corks in the clubhouse.

This thread is unreal.

How about just walking out of the dougout as the guy reaches the plate, clapping your hands and giving him a pat on the back? Then forming your winning game high five line.....Not running around in all directions, yelling and screaming your head off and forming a dog pile at home plate.

Walk-offs are, by definition, plays that end the game in a win though, which makes them different than just making a tackle or picking up 4 yards. It would be like an infielder dancing after a routine ground ball out.

I swear this would be the funniest thing ever! I would love it! Pull a Leslie Nielson in Naked Gun...

Joe Angel.." Here's a routine grounder to third, Reynolds fields it cleanly, and throws to first for the out. And that brings up...wait, what's this? OMG, Reynolds is DANCING at third base! This is UN-BELIEVABLE!"

Really? Is this serious?

This is how every single team in the majors celebrates a walk off. It would be disrespectful to do what you stated. These guys spend a lot of time together. They become good friends. They see guys go through ups and downs all the time. The players shouldn't be happy for the guy who came through for his whole team? That was a well played game, both teams were battling back and forth. Reimold, who has been struggling as of late, comes up and delivers the game winner and you want to see guys casually clapping their hands and then forming a straight line to high five him? This wasn't Gregg getting a pop up to the 2nd baseman to win the game, this was a homerun to end it. Two totally different actions.

God forbid these guys have an ounce of fun out there.

Didn't say they couldn't have a little fun..but it's now over the top.. and yes all teams are over the top. If you are in a race in Sept, ok, but these guys are acting like housewives who win $10k on a game show. Why not do that to the closer after striking out the final batter? Everyone stream out of the dugout and mob him, piling on top?

Because its not even close to the same type of feeling. Feel free to complain about them if they celebrate a K to end the game the same way they do a walkoff.

If a closer gets a save, you have the lead and are trying to hold on. If you get a walk off hit, you are either losing or it is tied. Totally different.

Just proving a point.

A walk-off win by a winning team in a pennant race is a reason to get excited. It's an accomplishment in a season that actually means something.

A walk-off win by the worst team in the AL? What have you accomplished exactly?

Right, because the Red Sox were in the heat of the pennant race when they celebrated that walk-off on April 20. Same with the Phillies on July 9. And the Angels on July 8. And nothing says "winning culture" like the Chicago Cubs.
