I do too.

I think they just announced today Smoak will be the primary 1B... I don't think they want to give up on him yet.

According to Geoff Baker of the Seattle Times, Mariners manager Eric Wedge said today that Smoak will begin the season as the primary first baseman barring “something drastic.” His reasoning is that he would prefer to stay away from making a decision based on spring training performance.

It just depends on how you interpret it. I would think a trade would be somewhere along the lines of being "drastic." Basically, if he's not traded then he's the first baseman. But, again, that's just how I interpret it.
