Maybe I missed something but I have no idea what Viviano is talking about. I am on Twitter quite a bit (today included) and can't say I heard Roberts name mentioned once today or recently as far as anything he allegedly said that got a "strong reaction" from the fans.

Of course not but he would shower them with praise and tell everyone how happy he is to be there, like every single other free agent who signs with someone new.

I am sure he would have said something flattering about the organization. Just like I am sure he said something nice about the O's when they cut him a check for 40 million.

To be honest his comments aren't that surprising to me. For a player who sucked on the Orioles' teet for years while he "rehabbed" time and time again, he never came across as humble (or as grateful) as I would expect a person in his position to have been. Good riddance "B-Rob." I wish you well in the ten games you'll actually be able to stay healthy for.

There's a difference between "The Yankees are paying me to play baseball, insert canned response" and "As a kid I think so many of us dream of putting on that Yankees uniform".

He didn't have to say anything other than formalities if he didn't feel that way.

As much as I hate the Yankees and get frustrated with Roberts' salary and all the injuries, I must say that I don't blame him.
