I kind of thought Buck would have been out there. Ausmus did come out with Verlander out there, but he pressed the issue more with Tillman out there.

Yeah, but Gary doesn't let little things like that get in the way of his announcing. Much like calling the right type of pitches.

Considering the way the starters have pitched this season, and would happen to Bud after the first couple of innings yesterday, can you really blame him for forgetting the first inning?

This team just drives me crazy. Taking 3 strikes in a row for three hitters would at least cost Verlander 9 pitches.

Verlander's one of the few pitchers I'd prefer to aggressively attack this way. Unless he's having an off day you're not going to get into favorable counts by waiting, and that first pitch or two he throws are going to be your best bet to hit.

How many at 'em balls have we hit this year so far? It's ridiculous.

Definitely why I'm not too worried at this point. That and we're only in the 6th game. Would rather be 5-0 than 1-4, but these kinds of things balance themseleves out over the course of a season.
