I don't get why a 2-3 WAR player over the last 3 years that'l likely not be able to play 3B much longer is getting a 100 million dollar contract.

Chase Headley looks more appealing, IMO. He has averaged 5 WAR over last 3 years.

Tony, my impression of Pablo has always been that he is a good athlete, bad body. He is agile (despite the video) and quick. More Kirby Puckett than Billy Butler. Accordingly, he may not age too badly.

Moreover, at least his current team wanted to keep him. The Dodgers have tons of money and apparently were sick of Hanley.

Isn't it interesting though that Pablo has played 771 games at third base over 7 seasons? I doubt Fielder rarely, if ever, got off of first.

It is. He could conceivably slide over to first (or even DH) if he loses some range. But then he'd have a higher baseline expectation on offense.
