Reggie Sanders for Todd Williams???????

Well Sanders would fill our quota on 40 year old outfielders.

This move would be so bad, on so many levels, that its not even really worth discussing. My opinion of the FO would drop significantly, if they realy went out and got this guy.

BECAUSE REGGIE SANDERS IS HORRIBLE AND MY FACE HURTS

Sorry Leitch but I think the FO has made it pretty darn clear that they don't care if your face hurts. In fact, the more pain their fans are in, the better move they think they've made.

Come to think of it, I hope they know that it will cause me excrutiating pain if Freddie Bynum is released...:P

Knott's already been cut, so forget him. Here's my question - why is DuBois still here?

His spring training performance?

If that's the case, why the F ARE BYNUM & STERN STILL HERE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!

Nothing is f'd here, dude. You're being very un-dude.

Oh wait, it is. Oh well.

Well, the bench is f'ed.

And our lineup against lefties is moderately f'ed.

Nine straight years of painful tradition, from David Segui to Russ Ortiz, you're G.D. RIGHT THE FO IS LIVING IN THE F'ING PAST!!!!

"The Orioles, in turn, would have to make sure they could provide enough at-bats for Sanders to keep him happy."

How do they do that once Payton returns?

Nick Markakis gets a few more days of rest, to "keep him fresh".

    • You’ve got to think that the minor leaguers are well aware of it when the boss is there to watch them play, right?
    • Before I begin, I have to say I have really enjoyed watching Mullins over the past few years. However, his body language when going to the plate now is really poor.  Two thoughts: 1) Is it time for him to at least try switch hitting again. Could it possibly get worse? Just a different look for a bit. 2) I know D is important. But, how many above average, game changing plays does a CF'er (or any fielder) make per game? Yet, for the most part, every starter gets 4 AB's/game where he can make a difference. Is having a good D, no hit player a net gain? Or is a average D, hit player a net gain?
    • Thats all there using Mcann for is backup catcher 17 starts all at catcher, Mayo does not play catcher.
    • Suarez’ velo makes me think he is an IL candidate when Grayson is activated, if there’s some nagging injury that is contributing to it.  I think it’s very unlikely Akin is optioned and Baumann has pitched better of late, so good chance somebody is going to the IL.
    • As to Urias, I think he’s on much thinner ice.  I’d say he has another 30 days to get his bat in gear.  If he doesn’t, I think either Holliday or Mayo will take his spot.
    • I don’t see a path for Mayo to get the ABs needed to acclimate & become a force in the lineup this year.  Someone would need to be moved.  I don’t see them bringing him up to get sporadic ABs and if they do bring him up and give him sporadic ABs I don’t see him being a difference maker.  He’s a special talent but every single one of our top tier guys have needed time to adjust.  How does he get that opportunity?
    • Offensively, l think McCann is what he is.  If you look at his 2023 game log, you’ll see that he was sub-.600 OPS most of last year, except that he had a 10-game stretch in August where he got very hot and raised his OPS from .564 to .692, and then he had a .525 OPS for the rest of the season once that streak was over.  So, I’m not expecting much more from McCann with the bat than what we’re currently seeing.  Every so often that stiff, grooved swing of his connects with a baseball and he hits the ball hard somewhere.   Most of the time, it doesn’t.   Defensively, there are some indicators that his performance is down, particularly in pitch blocking.  But it’s a small enough sample that I don’t know if it’s really meaningful.   The team is 11-6 when McCann starts and the pitchers have a 3.78 ERA when he’s behind the dish (2.90 when it’s Adley).   I think that’s good enough that the team isn’t going to be in any big hurry to “upgrade” from McCann.   He’s been a good mentor for Adley and seems well liked and respected in the clubhouse.   So long as they’re winning when he catches, they’re going to stick with him IMO.
