Why does Kiley hate the Blue Jays?

Does he? Or do we like them too much/ Dan Connolly was all about the Canadians this year. I think some folks still see the rotting core.

He's had a bad year hitting lefties, but that is only in 74 at-bats.

From 2012-2014, he put up a solid .765 OPS against LHP. I think that's worth the package I suggested, or something similar.

Yeah he has hit them in the past and really there is very few teams with lefties in the American League so he may face one once or twice a week. The only team with more then one lefty in the AL playoff hunt is the Astros.

I know the name has been mentioned before, but I would be interested in Yonder Alonso. I can't imagine he'd cost too much and he's got a .370 OBP this year. Thoughts?

I'd definitely prefer that to breaking the bank for Upton or CarGo.

Yonder Alonso is basically Nick Markakis at the plate. His bat doesn't play well at all for a 1B.

I'm not giving up much for CarGo unless they are eating some money. He'll be owed 17M in 2016, and 20M in 2017. He can't stay on the field and is basically a league average hitter outside of Coors Field.

That's a bargain. You're basically giving him the Nelson Cruz deal, just for only 2.3 years. And he's in his prime. I'd have ZERO problems giving up

Wright

Wilson

Bridwell

Cisco

Walker

Comp pick B

International slots

in any deal this offseason. I'd let Colorado take any 3 of those. Just from following the minor leagues, IMO those aren't franchise cripplers.

Hoffman was the guy the Orioles would have gotten as comp for DD,correct?

There was talk of Hoffman, but I'm guessing what the O's would have received would have been far, far less than him.

The Orioles never tried to deal Duquette. And despite what the "industry" felt was fair, the Orioles never wavered in what they wanted to allow the conversation to go forward. Toronto backed off and resigned Beeston.

That's scary. I'm used to the best of the best going to NY and Boston - but Toronto gets it done.

What about Puig. With rumors that he's potentially available, has anyone talked about the O's going for him? It seems like now would be possibly the only time a team like the O's would have a shot at him. He's having a tough year, but you have to consider this is a 24 year old with a 141 career OPS+ - who seems to be bursting with ability and loves the game. Gausman seems to have a ton of talent and coming off a game perfectly designed to boost his numbers - would be the kind of player needed to pull off a trade for Puig. Otoh, do we NEED Gausman? I'd do it - given the lack of hitters in baseball.

Maybe it's just me, but the Jays getting Tulo doesn't seem like the end of the world. He's a fantastic player, but he's continually injured and I don't think playing full time on the turf is going to help in that regard. I think I would have been more worried if they could have obtained a Hamels or Price.
