Why did Smyly not throw the slider again to CD?

Hank Conger is catching again. He made some awful calls with Moore on the mound that cost the game and again to CD. That could not have been a more awful call from Conger there. Three breaking balls to Davis and

swung at all three though Diaz missed the call and then, he throws a fastball down the middle? I don't get it. Conger is an awful catcher and I have to wonder if he is even paying attention out there. I don't know how

you could think a fastball up in the zone in that situation was a good call. Just awful. Case in point why you shouldn't just throw what the catcher puts down all the time.
