Just like last yeaf the second half the whole team were scared to get a clutch hit.

They get opposing pitchers on the ropes and they fail to capitalize. Now Manny has

been striking out a lot with men scoring position. The O's could let the Yankees back

in the race. Just what the media wants Yankees, Red Sox rivary. I feel sick to watch

it.

They were scared to get a clutch hit? Really? These are professionals, they're paid to play the game for a living, they didn't fail to get clutch hits because they were "scared." Take a chill pill and let the process play out.

Davis out with a virus. (replaced with Flaherty which is not exactly an offense upgrade)

Kim not playing. (the guy with the 400 OBP)

And they are on the road where they are 20-24.

Nothing wrong here that some health and some home cooking will not fix.

Eventually I think we need to play a little better on the road. Tonight would be a good time to start.

Hey, he's not the first person to tie a failure to be absolutely exceptional all the time to moral and character deficiencies. It would be hard to prove that failure in the clutch isn't because the player is a bad person and karma has come back to bite them. Especially if reincarnation is true.

Strangely enough that could happen soon. The pitching may get better soon. O'Day returning. Bundy and Worley replacing Wright and Wilson in the rotation. I look for Brach to pitch more innings. Brach, Roe and Despaigne are probably going to soak up those middle innings.

The offense should perk up when Davis and Kim return.

They don't put themselves in position to score without the home run. They don't bunt, steal bases, hit behind runners, hit and run, take pitches.... Recipe for disaster

You mean they don't do the things that have been proven to make you less likely to score runs?

You've clearly never played the game and are relying on Excel to guide you. Eddie Collins sac bunted 512 times and he's in Cooperstown. Case closed.

Frank Thomas, Mike Piazza, Harmon Killebrew all had ZERO Sac Hits and also made the Hall Of Fame. Case Re-opened.

The game's all been beer league softball since that Ruth kid came in and destroyed scientific baseball.

Can you make one post without being superior and sarcastic? Please. Fact is, bunting and stolen bases are still valuable and can help a team win close games. I know the conventional wisdom is that you should never bunt and rarely steal. But often times the pendulum swings too far. And, your systematic, disciplined approach that tells you that you should never bunt is simply wrong.

You know what he means. Not literally scared.
