Yeah this move makes sense. We are going with a 6 man rotation basically so smarter to keep 7 man pen with Bundy being piggybacked and Wilson Ubaldo to go on Thursday. The reevaluate for Toronto series of if an injury in outfield.

He is the 2nd long man which we need with the first piggybacking Bundy so it is either Ubaldo or Wilson. We just have not needed a long man which is a good thing.

I understand why they DFA him now, but I question what was the point of bringing him up? All so he could get one start and 11 PAs, and now they lose him for good?

DFA doesn't necessarily mean he is lost for good. He is not released. If untraded, he will probably be placed on waivers and chances are pretty good, IMO, that he will pass thru waivers and then be outrighted to Bowie or Norfolk.
