We are not talking a good season. The best. Of all time.

There's an argument for that, but you can argue against it, too. By fWAR, Britton was only the 7th best reliever of 2016, and not close to as good as Eric Gagne was in 2003 when he went 55/55 in saves and struck out 137 batters in 82 innings.

That would be one of the greatest rookie seasons of all time.

Nelson Cruz' 2014, had it been a rookie season, would have been something like the 87th-best rookie season of all time (non-pitcher category).

But it would have been 3rd-best in Oriole history behind Grich and Ripken. Trout holds the rWAR record for rookies, by 1.6 wins over 2nd place Joe Jackson.
