I don't see Houston trading away Springer. With that said, I don't really want Springer, homerun/strikeout batter.

Springer would immediately become the Orioles best player after Manny. You could deal with him not being a speedy little gnat.

Seriously?   Springer's OBP and power would far offset his strikeouts.  Plus, he's pretty decent defensively, and is only 26 years old.   He would be a perfect fit for this team.    You are right, though...Houston will not be trading him.

Certainly not for the package OP suggested.

As all have noted, this doesn't make sense for the Astros. There's no indications that Springer is available. It would be a hit to their lineup. He's ticketed to bat lead-off and play CF for this team. Springer to Marisnick or even Anthony Kemp or Preston Tucker would be a notable drop off. Houston is in a win-now mode, so Reyes and Hays while fine fillers won't be enough to sway them to trade Springer, it would be primarily about the major leaguers and while Brach and Givens alongside Giles, Gregerson and Harris gives the team one heck of a bullpen, the fact that they have the other three makes their need for Brach and Givens much less. They'd be a luxury. Honestly, the biggest weakness for the Astros team right now is in the rotation and we cannot match up there.

Nice try, but the Astros won't even consider dealing Springer to us unless we start with Gausman/Bundy, Cisco, ++++.

I am okay with a package of Cisco for Springer, but neither Gausman or Bundy in that package, not that the Astros would do that, either.

I didn't say he didn't have value, just my personal preference. His power will increase, and it could affect his swing which could increase his SO's. Hard to go off one healthy season to say what his norm is.

But it's all a mute point since the Astros are not trading away a core player and are still competitive and young.
