O’s drafts in 2010 and later: not so bad?

I'm breathing a sigh of relief at Martinez/Arozarena after the initial Bader/O'Neill reports.  Tampa will always arbitrage, and that first one felt like a big win for them.  Good to see them using some assets to buy present wins while we are off the chessboard.

I think every team's fanbase would probably rate their team's drafts as at least slightly below average, unless they were undeniably good like Ozzie Newsome's first several with the Ravens.   It's human nature to remember each and every "bust" or disappointment.

The same logic takes place if you poll a team's fans after a basketball game and ask them did the refs favor their team, the other team, or neutral, I'll bet the poll 9 games out of 10 the poll will have more people saying the other team was favored than saying their own team was favored.

Don't underestimate the value of moving up 30 or so spots in the draft.
