Services are on the 9th, so John won't be back this weekend.

Players are allowed 7 games on the bereavement list, so he has to be back by Thursday. I imagine that he would re-join the team on Tuesday, after the off-day on Monday.

Totally didn't occur to me that his return will take longer because of the COVID intake process, makes sense though. Don't want to let someone back into the team bubble without precautions.

Yes, I think so.  Washington loaded up their lineup with righties, but what really started it was and 11 pitch walk by Turner - gotta give Turner a ton of credit and then a great at bat by Soto - who's the best hitter in baseball now.  There were 2 or 3 bad defensive plays, and his pitch count escalated to 34.  That was it.  The one worrisome thing - he couldn't get a swing and miss.  Still, his stuff looked ok.  I think he'll be fine.

Regarding Means, I am not concerned quite yet ........ he's not hurt, he has plenty of juice on his pitches, and it has been an emotionally trying season for him overall for a number of reasons.

Regarding the season, we have the luxury of rooting for a team that wasn't expected to win more than 20 or 25 games in the first place ...... hence, worrying cap not required.
