Why is the eighth inning higher-leveraged than the 9th in this game? It's not, which tells me Hyde's either hoping for two IP from Givens or just doesn't want to use him in ninth innings.

Matchups do not favor Givens. Three of the next four are lefty.

It’s definitely interesting he hasn’t used Givens in the 9th yet.

I’m not sold on Hyde but I think he’ll Use his best reliever in the high leverage situations. I am unclear why he pulled Armstrong.

I agree, so why use Givens in the eighth?

Hyde truly plays it like Buck said he would. Buck HAD a closer and roles. Hyde just plays the situation, the matchups. "When I call your number come in and get outs."
