On August 31st, the Tampa Bay Rays' IL list is 18 players.  

In that span (August 9th through August 31st), they have gone a Major League-best 18-3, and are 19-3 in their last 22 games.

Jordan Montgomery hasn’t been on the mound in 2 weeks, and has never thrown a pitch in the post-season ...... yet the Yankees' chances of survival lay at least partially in his hands as the team's Game 4 starter against the Devil Rays in the ALDS.
