#50THANNIVERSARY

On this day in 1970, the Baltimore Orioles won for a third day in a row by beating the Boston Red Sox 3-2.  

Dick Hall was the beneficiary of a Davey Johnson two-out homerun in the top of the 9th inning and as such, recorded his 9th victory of the season.  Johnson finished the day 2 for 4 with 1 run scored and 2 RBI.

Paul Blair also went 2 for 4 with a double, a homerun, 1 run scored and 1 RBI.

Tom Phoebus started for the Birds and lasted 6.0 innings, having given up 2 runs on 4 hits while walking 3 and striking out 3.
