Malike
Jake put up a line that O's fans are familiar with tonight. 5.0 IP 13H 9R 9ER. If he were throwing a no hitter through 5 innings again, we'd have 47 posts in the game thread about him. Not a peep tonight. Shocking. OriolesMagic83
I could see Arrietta being like Ubaldo for the Cubs. Some dominant stretches followed by games where he can't get out of the 3rd inning. I'm sure he'll be a rotation mainstay for them for a few years. weams
I know this guy. I do. He single-handedly dumps the game for you. I mean Jake. This way. That's the Jake I know. And the one who can also go six with no hits. I know that guy.
weams
McLouth ends up on 15 day DL for his ailing shoulder. Hurt it back on the 28th of July.http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/nationals-journal/wp/2014/08/04/nationals-place-nate-mclouth-on-disabled-list-call-up-steven-souza-jr/ Dan Duquette is so smart for allowing DC to ride the vapor trail. bobmc
Even if Lough has underperformed. Is there a similarly cool word for the opposite of "regression"? Because I want to use it if and when DL finds "the zone" offensively! He will right? I mean I "know" he will eventually - someway, somehow....:scratchchinhmm:

I noticed, because Jake is on my fantasy team. :cussing: I wouldn't read a ton into it because it was on the road at Colorado where the baseball behaves differently in the air. If he has another stinker next time out though.......i think that will be deserving of attention.
tntoriole
James Johnson. Not much different. Now stinking for the Toledo Mud Hens. One inning, two runs, an error on a throw, two doubles. http://www.detroitnews.com/article/20140808/SPORTS0104/308080119/0/sports0104/Jim-Johnson-shaky-his-debut-Mud-Hens
Tryptamine
Jake Arrieta rebounded nicely from his worst start as a Cub, posting a 7 1/3IP 5H 2ER 1BB 4SO performance against the 2nd best offense in the NL. He's now sitting with a 2.77ERA and 1.05WHIP to go along with his 2.37FIP and 2.88xFIP.
