#50THANNIVERSARY

On this day in 1970 the Baltimore Orioles defeated the Detroit Tigers 4-3 in 12 innings.

Johnny Oates started the home half of the 12th with a triple.  Detroit intentionally walked both Terry Crowley and Don Buford to load the bases.  Mark Belanger provided the walk-off win with his RBI single.

Boog Powell hit his 35th homerun of the season and finished 1 for 3 with 1 run scored and 2 RBI.

Jim Hardin was credited with the win for his 2.0 scoreless innings of work; the right-hander allowed no hits and struck out 1.
