Glavine hit 94 as a rookie.  McGregor played about three eras ago, as did Jones.

I think they would be higher, but not high enough.

Yes I don't think Jones or McGregor would have been successful starting pitchers in this era.

Maybe bullpen guys, not starters.

And Wells probably throws harder than either of them, right?  I’m just hoping he has a shot.  Would be fun to watch a pitcher like that succeed today.

So Davis cost of Nunez. Probably true, but I understand they have to keep Davis.

They added more than I thought they would and I’m a bit surprised at Nunez being the odd man out.

With Diaz being added, Stewart needs to watch out.

I'm hoping he does well.

But I personally wouldn't bring up Jones or McGregor as comps when they pitched over thirty years ago.

FWIW the Fangraphs prediction of NON-tenders had Renato in the Unlikely category, and both Alberto and Valaika in Likely/Tough Call bands.

Glad they are keeping Mattson and Wells. A little surprised but I like it. Will miss Nunez but not that much. Much prefer to lose Nunez than risk losing anyone with prospect value.

I do. They have Davis, Mountcastle and Mancini. There’s only so many 1b/DH you can have.

Right.  It’s fine that you are keeping him right now because of covid...and perhaps, depending on how things go, you end up keeping him on the active roster for a little while to see if the season gets canceled, although I think that is highly unlikely.

At this point, the plan should be to keep him up until you know when the season starts and then you cut him.
