Here's an advantage of rooting for such a bad team: think how painful this inning would be if the Orioles were in a pennant race.

Elias didn't think he was getting enough in return for Scott and Fry at the trading deadline. Since then, Scott immediately couldn't get anyone out and went on the IL, and Fry can't throw a strike or get anyone out.

Lead down to one run and the bases still loaded for .280-hitting Wendle. Fry out after 25 pitches. Let's see what Tate can do in this very bad situation.

Franco's OPS (before that walk) was in the .690s. He's not a great hitter. Yet.

It does seem like Fry is taking a dive after not getting traded at the deadline.

Fry is not an elite arm and if you get a good offer for Fry you take it. I hope Elias didn't trade Fry because he didn't get the perfect offer in return for him.
