Game Notes

  • The Tigers' Miguel Cabrera has 498 career home runs.   Manny Ramirez and Eddie Murray both hit their 500th career home run at Oriole Park.
  • The Orioles have allowed 54 runs in the last 5 games, at least 9 in every game.  The starters have allowed 17 of those runs in 23.1 innings, while the relievers have allowed 37 of those runs in 21.2 innings.

I see an end in sight on the radar, so I think they will play tonight, but possibly not until at least 8:00-8:30 at best.

The first game after the strike ended and play resumed was the MLB All Star Game.  Ken Singleton homered.

A couple weeks later I was hanging out in the basement of a high school buddy's, and he said you want to see something cool?  He showed me this newfangled device I had never seen before, stuck a tape in it, and we were able to watch Singleton's ASG HR on it.  First time I had ever seen a VCR
