Not pitchers who are AAAA or 29 year olds making their mlb debuts to evaluate. Or pitchers with era over 7. How about bring up a prospect before they are 26. Evaluate those pitchers.

Thats a 7.52 runs per game. Not easy, but if they give up 22 a couple more times it becomes alot easier.

The O’s allowed 981 runs in 2019.   They’re on pace for 971 now.  We could outpace that number and reach 1000.   It wouldn’t shock me.

Yeah, I just don't really care.  Frobby just posted they gave up 981 in 2019.  19 runs doesn't make a big difference, it just makes for a big shiny number.

No one would make a note of a difference between 962 runs and 981 runs.  There's hardly a difference between 981 and 1000.

After three well-pitched games with the Phillies, the O’s staff has allowed 901 runs.   So, 10 games remaining and they’d need to allow 99 runs to reach 1000.    Not likely, but you can never count this staff out.

If the Rangers stay true to form (lowest run total in AL, 581--244 runs less than the Astros), the 4 games against them should help balance out whatever extraordinary damage is wreaked during the 6 games against the AL's third and fourth highest-scoring teams, the Jays and Red Sox (both at 794, with the Red Sox having played one more game than the Jays and Rangers).

My bet would be that they don't even match the 2019 team's level of runs-against. That would require them to exceed an average of 8.1 runs per game, when even their abysmal average so far has been 5.93. Of course, averages can't predict what will happen in the small sample size of 10 games, and the Sox and Jays are playing to maintain wild card slots, so who knows....

With the shutout of the Rangers (note that they started the Philly series with one as well), the Orioles runs-against is holding steady at 901. To reach 1,000, would need to average 11 RA/G the remaining 9 games. To reach 2019's 981, 8.9 RA/G.
