I’ve been putting the brakes on various posters who thought Cowser might earn a major league job straight out of spring training.  My view is, he’ll have to earn it in AAA next year.   Will he?   We will find out.

And yes, I did think Cowser had a good chance to make it to AAA going into last year.   Nobody’s saying he was a huge disappointment.   He’s got some minor holes in his game I wasn’t expecting.  He easily could close them up next spring.

I'll agree to disagree then.   While I'm disappointed in his strikeout rates, he's actually better overall than I hoped for.   Especially coming off of 2021 he looked like a .300 hitter with very limited power.    While there is certainly value in that type of player, I'm quite happy to see the transformation of Cowser, slap hitter (with a 15% strikeout rate BTW) to Cowser the power hitter with contact issues.
