Your memory is off base.   Reimold’s 2012 season ended in April.   McLouth wasn’t even on the team until August 4.   He was with the team for 56 regular season games, and started 52 of them, 51 in LF and one in CF.   Prior to McLouth’s arrival, LF had been a huge trouble spot, with 10 different players getting starts at the position.

Perhaps I'm thinking of 2013?

Edit: Looks like his hot start was indeed 2012 and he was ok-ish to start 2013, although I think they may have rotated/platooned in LF to start 2013 before he went down for injury yet again.
