2023 Ongoing Lineup Thread

Hays didn’t look like he was running well yesterday. Wouldn’t be surprised to hear he is out with some kind of an ankle/foot injury for a few games.

Starting McKenna against a righty and benching Westburg yet again are such terrible lineup decisions. Hate how Hyde screws over young players not named Adley or Gunnar. Westburg in particular is the best option for the team to win now, and guys like Frazier, Mateo, and Urias either won't be on the team next season (Frazier, maybe Mateo) or will be strictly bench players (Urias, Mateo if he is still on the team).

Westburg is a winner and will be one of the core players of our playoff teams. It's shameful to platoon him like this.

Waah Waah Waah!   Westburg has been on the team for 55 games and he’s started 37 of them, played in 46.  He’s not being platooned; he’s started 19 games against RH starters and 18 against LH starters.  The team is 23-14 (.622) when Westburg starts, 12-6 (.667) when he doesn’t.  

To me, Hyde is doing a brilliant job of juggling his infielders in a way that keeps  everybody involved and everybody fresh  .  They will all be better off for it down the stretch and in October.

Someone noted on the series thread that the pitcher has reverse splits. He's been struggling a little and Frazier has been getting more AB's lately. Wouldn't surprise me if Westburg is banged up somehow as well.

I hope he's just dinged up and that is the reason he's not starting.   Otherwise he should be playing over Frazier, regardless of the splits.  Frazier is terrible with the glove and his bat has gone ice cold.  At least Westburg plays a better 2nd base.
