He’s been a pleasant surprise. Seems to fit the type of hitters the O’s are developing. Still 21, good OBP and shown power. I guess we need to figure where he fits defensively.

With the big day yesterday, Wagner is now up to a .248/.375/.425 line, good for a 122 wRC+. 24.6% K rate is not great, but offset by a stellar 15.1% BB rate. He also has a shocking 25 SB. 

Not bad for a 21 year old in A+ ball. He’s definitely on promotion watch now. 

In years past he would have gotten a lot more attention in our system. Now it seems he may be destined to be nothing more than trade bait, but he’s shaping up to be a pretty solid prospect.

For perspective, Norby when he was 22 was at Aberdeen and had a .746 OPS before being moved up to Bowie.  There might be something here with Wagner.

Absolutely, and I think more defensive value as a 3B or 2B.   Maybe not the pure hitter that Norby is but he’s interesting.

per Melewski, Wagner is being promoted to Bowie.  Along with Collin Burns and Max Costes.

The obvious follow-up, ROCH!, is this something he aggravated working out after the season or something that bothered him during the year?

Luckily that's an injury that should be healed by spring training.
