I'm hoping that the Varva experiment/experience ends sometime before we get to June. His talent says that he should be an end of the bench guy on a competing team or a player who plays regularly on a non-contender (like DET, WASH, OAK). He has no business getting regular ABs on this team and playing so often in the outfield.

Entering today's game Gunnar has a wRC+ of 110 per FGs. He has hit pretty well considering the extent to which he has struggled.
