I go back to Gunnar and Adley. I'm not worried about Cowser or Westburg. They have the requisite talent to succeed at this level. To be truthful, I'm not worried about Grayson either. They all are very talented and they will figure it out, but it's probably not going to be overnight. Gunnar took about 2 months to get it going, Adley took about a month/20 games. And even with both of them, they are still growing/learning/maturing/developing.

I know we want them all to succeed right now, but that's usually not how things go in the modern game. It usually takes some time.

Gunnar's throwing is definitely an issue.

O'Hearn should have had it... but still, on a routine play like that Gunnar needs to be better.

I'm ready to let Mateo start at shortstop amd Mountcastle at 1B again just to see if it gives the defense a shot in the arm because these past 2 games have been horrendous. O'Hearn can DH.

I agree that we need more pitching. I guess that I am not as worried about Boston and Toronto as you are. Last I check Boston is 8 behind us in the lost column with 69 games to play. It would take a monumental effort on both out parts for them to pass us.

I think they like him to provide consistent innings even if his ERA is elevated a bit. I could see them making that move closer to the playoffs if he really isn't performing.
