My wish is for Tampa Bay and Texas to have a wonderful, competitive 3 game series that results in a Texas win in game 3, a 21 inning 24-23 thriller.

Honestly the hottest team right now is Minnesota compared to the others that just kinda hovered around 500 last month and a half.   The Twins almost caught the AL West winner.

Pablo-Arraez worked out pretty well for both teams in Year 1.

Nope.  The seeds are set in advance.  It’s assumed that the highest seed will win and that the O’s are advantaged by playing the 4 seed in the ALDS rather than the 3 seed.  But that breaks down when the 3 seed (which is the 3rd division winner) is actually worse than the 4 seed, or if there’s an upset in the first round so that the 5th or 6th seed advances. 
 

Know what?  I don’t really care.  If the O’s are the best team, they’ll beat whoever is in front of them.

If you compare Fangraphs odds, the Cubs had a 92.4% chance to make the playoffs in early September.  The Rangers had a 91.3% chance to win the division on 9/27.  So in terms of how much bad stuff had to happen in order for them not to reach their goal, it's comparable.  But of course the Cubs didn't have a fallback since they were fighting for a wild card, while the Rangers get a date with Tampa as a consolation prize.  So I guess the Cubs.  But they're both pretty rough.

It helps to finish the year with nine games against Angels/A's/Rockies.

It certainly SHOULD happen that way but it doesn't.  This will happen every time the two best teams are in the same division, so not every year but frequent enough that they should fix it.

So glad Toronto is in the other bracket.  Not that Texas is any easier.   I like playing a different division in the playoffs.   It will probably be Tampa anyway.

Injuries delayed him a very long time, but Royce Lewis fantastic day today.   He like Jackson Holliday was a 1-1 prep infielder.

The Brewers closer had a bad inning asked to pitch in "playoff high leverage", DOWN one run in the 9th inning.
