Results are good and even if Means is just a bullpen pitcher he can make a difference down the stretch.

This is exactly what I wanted to see from him tonight.

Bump the starters up a day to keep them on their current regular rest and give Gibson’s next start on Wednesday to Means and go from there.

I'm watching the game, he looked great in the 5th, could have easily gotten through 6 if it weren't for the pitch limits, they hit nothing really hard at all. The hit by Dalbec was a broken bat bloop.

Agreed. Sounds like he got stronger as the game went on. That much is encouraging.

Some Means readings from a 4 pitch walk in the 3rd inning. 

Thanks. FB is a little low on velocity but that’s to be expected. Almost a 10 mph difference. Seems like he dominated tonight. I’d bring him up and cut Voth for next week. Could also just cut Voth today and send Krehbiel down for Means on Tuesday.

I missed Means with the O's the first couple years. I know he had a lot of success and obviously the no hitter.

Who would be a comp for means when he's at his best?

 Looked good to me. Velo sitting 91. Threw some good change ups and sliders and got some Ks. Had a bit of hard contact that got hit into the defense. Can't be worse than Gibson. Might be better than Irvin and Flaherty. I would give him a shot.
