Kjerstad possibly promoted?

If Mountcastle is out for a while, that is where I would mostly expect him to play.  I would prefer to see him in the OF to O'Hearn and in COF to McKenna.

That seems the most likely move to me too there’s too many infielders in front of Vavra on the depth chart and assuming Mountcastle is going to be out for an extended period and a bat is needed in his absence.

They have enough Guys that can play first so Cowser could play in the OF.  Santander, O’Hearn and Urias can all play there.  If Cowser had shown anything, he would have been the call up.

So, if Mountcastle is out and Kjerstad is up, our 1st baseman options are O’Hearn, Santander, Kjerstad, and Urias.  That’s plenty of flexibility, but Mountcastle was killing it since returning from vertigo.  Hopefully he’ll be back soon.

Mounty hasn’t been killing it lately.  Maybe the shoulder has been an issue longer than we know.

Urias has looked bad in his time playing first base this season. He's not used to the angle and he tends to misjudge the spin on balls hit that way.

For that reason, I wouldn't consider Urias as a legitimate option for 1st base in meaningful games. I would consider him options at 3B and 2B.

It should be noted that just because Heston is on the way to Baltimore doesn’t mean that he will be called up.  They might have in Baltimore just in case things look bad on an MRI for Mounty

That’s true. He’s 1 for his last 18 and hasn’t looked comfortable.
